Portrait photography is an underappreciated skill.
To capture someone not only physically but their personality too takes a lot of technical know-how and a super-creative eye.
But something far more underappreciated than human portrait photography is equine portrait photography.
In other words, photographing horses.
Wiebke Haas is a multiple-award-winning equine photographer from Germany that proves horses can look just as fabulous – heck, more fabulous – than humans.
The series of glamorous photoshoots showcases a group of horses of different shapes and sizes and their beautiful, flowing manes.
And they’re starting to make me feel that my hair is inadequate, to be honest.
‘Ever since I was a little girl I dreamt of hoof-beats and flying through the fields on a back of a horse,’ she wrote on Bored Panda.
‘I can’t imagine a day without these magnificent animals.’
She added: ‘Therefore, I combined my great passion for horses with my desire to be creative and became an equine photographer.’
She said that it sometimes takes as long as two to three days before getting the perfect shot, before processing it which can take up to 20 more hours.
It’s hardly surprising that Wiebke has been given so many accolades, including 1st Place at International Photographer Of The Year Award.
Besides these beauty shoots, she also takes badass action shots taken in the great outdoors.
Now 24, her pictures have featured in magazines and galleries around the world, and she said that she’s ‘truly living her passion’.
