Akhal-Teke horses are regularly regarded as the most beautiful horses in the world, and although they may sound like they come from a mythical storybook, they are indeed real. This breed of horses is native to Turkmenistan, where they are a national emblem.
Akhal-Teke horses are often referred to as “golden horses” or “horses from heaven,” and it’s not hard to see why. With their golden metallic color, sloping shoulders and thin skin, they really are awe-inspiring creatures.

But it’s their shiny hair that makes them the most striking, as their coats reflect the light, creating a shiny, magical gleam. The structure of their hair follicle is actually different from other horses—their strands are not as opaque as other breeds.
